United Kingdom: entry rules for Russian citizens

Updated: September 2021

Additional requirements and restrictions apply in the UK due to COVID-19. Requirements are individual for each country and are regularly reviewed depending on the statistics of diseases.

For citizens of Russia, when entering the UK, a PCR test is required, taken no more than 72 hours before arrival.

Mandatory self-isolation for 10 days at the place of residence.

When passing three PCR tests on days 2, 5 and 8, it is possible to reduce self-isolation to 5 days after receiving the result of the second test.

A set of 3 PCR tests costs between £280 and £370. Ordered and paid in advance. PCR tests are delivered to your UK address. In the UK, the PCR test is done independently according to the instructions on the test and sent to the laboratory. The package with the passed test is accepted in clinics or mailboxes are installed throughout the country, where they leave the tests and then the laboratory picks them up. Test results are sent by email.

In the UK, there are very high fines for non-compliance with the self-isolation regime.

Self-isolation is not required for children who have come to study at a boarding school.
