Program description and what is included
Our Cambridge Juniors Summer English Language Course is held at St. Andrew’s College on Station Road in Cambridge and takes full advantage of the cultural heritage of this beautiful university town. The school is a 10 minute walk from the centre of Cambridge. There you will find many of the beautiful university buildings that Cambridge is famous for, along with shops, restaurants and cultural activities for you to enjoy.
It’s a lively course and there’s always something going on. The course includes four full hours of English lessons per day with afternoon and evening activities. On Saturday, there is a full day trip to London with the opportunity to see the sights as well as some free time to do some shopping.

Teaching
Placement Test: On your first day, you will take a short written test and have an interview with a teacher so that we can assess your level of English and choose the best class level for you.
English Lessons: Our English classes are based on our school’s topic based syllabus. You will develop your language skills while discussing topics that are relevant and interesting to you. Expect to work in pairs and groups regularly, and take part in class discussions and other activities that make learning enjoyable and fun.
Project Classes: In our project classes, you will use English to work on a project together with your class mates. You will be able to choose the focus of your project with help from your teacher. Popular projects include:
- Creating a school magazine
- Surveys of Select staff or members of the public
- Making a guide to Cambridge for future students
- Preparing a presentation on your hometown
Drama Classes: On your final day at Select, all classes put on a short performance for the rest of the school. In your drama classes, your teacher will help you to prepare and rehearse your performance.
This is an excellent way to build your confidence and is also lots of fun!
Certificates: At the end of the course, you will receive a certificate with your English level.
Activity Program
The Cambridge Junior course has an exciting and varied activity programme with sports, games and excursions. These include a mixture of Sports, Arts and Crafts, Historical and Cultural visits, Social events and Exucrsions. These include:
- Full- day excursion to London
- Half-day trip to Bury St Edmunds
- Football, Rugby, Tennis, Cricket and more!
- T-Shirt Designing, Tote-Bag Designing, Sculpture Making and more!
- University College and Museum Visits
- Punting on the River Cam
Residential Accommodation
Stay in one of our supervised residence buildings near to the school. We have several halls of residence, all within walking distance (10-25 minutes’ walk) of the school. Residences are allocated randomly, however we ensure a good nationality split.
Residential accommodation on our Cambridge Junior course is available for students aged 13+.
- Boys and girls are accommodated on separate floors supervised by live in House Managers
- Breakfast, packed lunch and evening meal provided
- Laundry once per two week course
- Bed linen is provided (students should bring their own towels)
- Student common room in each residence with WiFi

Select English, established in Cambridge in 1991, is an independent English language school dedicated to providing high-quality, personalized instruction to both Juniors and Adults.
During the summer, Select English provides courses for students aged 10+. These include the Cambridge Juniors course for students aged 13-17, programs at Culford School for ages 10-16, Cambridge Adults course for students 16+ and Cambridge University College course for ages 16-25.
Students have the option of residential or homestay accommodations, ensuring a comfortable and immersive learning experience. Cancellation policy
If canceled at least two weeks in advance, you will be refunded the amount paid except for:
- Travel Class services for booking 55 EUR;
- ticket refunds are made according to the airline's rules (unless otherwise requested, tickets are purchased by default at the most favorable, usually non-refundable fare).
If canceled less than two weeks before the start of the program, additionally will be taken:
- the first week of the Program at the School;
- additional services (medical insurance, meeting at the airport, additional excursions), if they have already been ordered.
The price is fixed
The price is fixed in the currency of the country of study. For example, Great Britain - pounds sterling, Ireland - euro.
Payment is made in rubles at the exchange rate on the day of payment.
After full payment has been made, the price does not change regardless of the exchange rate
If you make a prepayment first, then the payment will be calculated at the exchange rate on the day of payment.
How is the transfer to school arranged?
1. Parents check in their child for the flight. Airlines usually allow independent flights from the age of 12. You can order an escort service for a minor (100-150 euros) so that an airport employee accompanies the child at the airport.
2. If you book a transfer, the child will be met at the airport by a school representative with a sign with the student's name.
Is the flight ticket included in the price?
Yes, flight tickets from Spain and Italy are included.
