Description

The PLUS English Language Centre offers pupils to attend an English camp at the University of Chester. The university occupies an area with gardens and parks in a lovely English town, northwest England. The campus consists of Victorian buildings and modern structures. Chester is one of the country's 'heritage towns' because of its surviving medieval architecture. The largest shopping complex in the UK is close to the school. From the centre you can reach Manchester or Liverpool in one hour, London in two.

PLUS offers students a 15 hour per week language course. The centre has spacious classrooms, a library, lounge and canteen. Prior to arrival students take an online English test to ensure that they are allocated to the right study group. The course aims to improve basic language and speaking skills, with an emphasis on conversation practice. All teachers are TESOL or ELT certified. Materials are adapted to the hobbies and interests of teenagers and children. At the end of the course students will receive a certificate.  

There is plenty of space to relax and a Starbucks on site. In the first half of the day they explore the city, wander the medieval streets, visit the cathedral and Chester Castle, and make a wish on the Wishing Ladder. In their spare time, pupils take part in sports and recreational activities. Tennis courts, dance studio, swimming pool, gym, running track and squash courts are all within walking distance. Weekends are spent in Liverpool, York, Manchester or Carnarvon Castle, an example of military architecture. 

Children are accommodated in on-campus residences or host families. Campus rooms are single rooms with either private or shared facilities. The host families are within a 35-minute bus or train ride away from the school. Pupils are given bus passes at check-in. Meals are provided three times a day and packed lunches are available on trips.
